Ebisu

Old curiosity shops and perfect cappuccinos
Ebisu (恵比寿), Daikanyama (代官山) and Meguro (目黒) are classy neighborhoods without all the hype of Tokyo's newer developments. Here you'll find perfect cappuccinos, unique boutiques and an array of dining choices for family, business and romantic evenings out. When you find yourself with a free afternoon, hop on the Toyoko line and start exploring some of the stops. You might find that perfect chair for your living room, a cake shop serving up a slice of heaven, or come across a friend who is also just passing by (it's a small Tokyo, after all).

Touhachi (藤八)

izakaya (Japanese bar and diner)
From the station, walk across the Meguro River and the establishment occupying the large block corner straight ahead will be your destination for a truly authentic izakaya experience. Loud clientele, hundreds of otsumami (おつまみ、appetizers to accompany drinks) to choose from, hot sake, cold beers, and tatami mats... this is the real thing. Recommeded: ginnan (ぎんなん, salted ginko nuts) with a draft beer. Dinner from around ¥3,000. Menu in Japanese.
