Yebisu Garden Place (恵比寿ガーデンプレイス) outdoor mall This is not just an open-air shopping center for the Madame. Bring Spot along for a stroll and order a café au lait to go from the boulangerie La Boutique de Joël Robuchon (B1) and enjoy it on one of the many benches. Aoyama Book Center (青山ブックセンター) bookstore A great stop for books on design and art, especially by Japanese artists. Although their foreign fiction is limited, many of their design-oriented hardbacks are in both English and Japanese. There is a wide range of foreign and domestic magazines. Ginza Natsuno Aoyama (銀座　夏野　青山店) chopsticks specialty shop This gem of a shop, tucked behind busy Omotesando's main street, has row after row of handmade, one-of-a-kind chopsticks and other Japanese utensils that will tempt you with its artisanship and beauty. Don Quijote (ドン・キホーテ) discount shop Their theme song may drive you to insanity, but hey, you can stock up on great deals at this discount shopping emporium. Everything from heavy-duty luggage to cosmetics to toiletries to food and beverages line the shelves at rock-bottom prices. Look out for the narrow aisles. Tower Records Shibuya (タワーレコード　渋谷) CD store and bookstore Aside from an excellent selection of Japanese major and indie releases, you can also find some of Tokyo's best bargains on imported magazines and English language books on the top floor. Shinjuku New South Exit Area (新宿新南口付近) shopping area Go out the south or new south exits of JR Shinjuku station and you'll see the antithetis of Kabukicho (for which you should take the east exit, FYI): Starbucks, Microsoft, Shinjuku Takashimaya, Kinokuniya bookstore and even an Eddie Bauer. Every Christmas the lights go up around this area making it one of the most fun places to go Christmas shopping. The bridge in the middle is one of the best spots to look over train tracks as Shinjuku station is one of the busiest in the world. Tokyo Random Walk bookstore Though not large, they often hold bargain sidewalk sales of foreign books (children's, adult fiction, nonfiction, calendars, etc.) and have a good selection of art books inside. SuperDeluxe (スーパーデラックス) event space A place for artistic souls to mingle, for local musicians to jam and a backdrop for all sorts of discussions to blossom, SuperDeluxe is a popular venue for internationally-minded creative types. While the soul may be content feeding on ideas from one another, SuperDeluxe's selection of foods and drinks--including microbrewed beer from the Tokyo Brewery Company--is sure to keep stomaches satiated. Creators Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham designed the space for optimal flexibility, in order to complement the constantly changing events being hosted.
