This festival dates back to the celebration of the opening of the Senju bridge in 1924. And though the festival was put on hold during and after WWII, it was brought back to life in 1979 and is enjoying it's 32nd anniversary this year.

This year's theme is "A present of light and sound for your loved one." So wear a yukata and gaze at the colorful fireworks as you lie in your lovers arms.
